Ayan rewrites Box Office History !!
Ayan seems to have been released at a time when the Chennai box-office and Tamil cinema in general is hit-starved. Shunning the lull at the ticket counters, the movie is breaking all collection records in the recent past proving to be the first blockbuster this year.
Distributed by SUN Pictures, in the four weekends of its run, Ayan has collected close to 4.16 crores in Chennai alone according to trade reports. The Suriya starrer is showing no signs of tiring as the weekends see repeat family audience, especially women, that has almost become a rare phenomenon at theaters of late. Ayan ran for 215 shows during the last weekend in Chennai and needless to say, all the theatres were bursting at their seams.
